Netflix has ‘The Uninvited’ on DVD. We have it on VHS because it has long been one of Mrs. Homer’s favorites. She takes exception to Crowther’s flippant take on the movie. I must confess to following his suggestion and nodding off during one or two of the unhaunted scenes. The notes on the box that holds our VHS version calls ‘The Uninvited’ “one of the first films to deal with ghosts in a serious and terrifying manner.” So there you have it – the film has historical significance – HJS.
