Parents recorded how much violent media children were exposed to and researchers took DNA samples of children at birth.
They found that children with the particular gene variant were far more likely to watch violent TV shows and play games such as Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty.
Previous studies have shown that children are in part influenced by what their parents watch.
However, this is the first study to look at the possible genetic influence of what children choose to watch.

There’s no such thing as an “Aryan race” actually. Hitler was incorrectly referring to Indo-European speaking people, but language does not a race make. If everyone has the gene, mankind has no free will and is a unaccountable and not responsible for all his/her actions.
The argument has no legs to stand on.
Carried to its logical conclusion, the argument states that:
viz All criminals in prisons must be set free because their violent behavior was caused by watching violent scenes in movies tv etc.- It is a genetic abnormality and therefore they are innocent victims of their own DNA - This way they can blame their parents for the violent actions their offspring committed.
Gimme a break- even a 3rd grader knows he is responsible for his own actions, good or bad.

This explains my predisposition to eating pills and ghosts, smashing barrels thrown by apes with a hammer, jumping on pyramids and changing cubes different colors, blowing up Death Stars, shooting landers that turn humanoids into mutants, destroying Robotrons in the year 2084, blowing up vector tanks, shooting asteroids, serving lots of beer to customers for measly tips, killing Zaxxons, shooting who knows what kind of beasts that crawl from vector tubes, hatred of Vaxxians, and whole lots of other issues I had back in the 80s ... As a young boy, we had toy guns and would pretend blast our friends until dark....then we would stand guard duty and patrols
Back then there was a outlet for boy to be boys.
My boys had them, none of the 3 every used a real gun to harm anything but a practice target paper or a deer when they got old enough to hunt.
My middle child was a developmental delayed by 4 yrs, at 16 he was equal to a 12 yr old. No voice crack yet, no peach fuzz.
He was ambushed within site of our home with just the RR tracks blocking the site, and beaten to death with a 4x4 fence post, by a sociopath seeking the thrill to see what it felt like to kill. Drug all his friends to the site to brag, then stood on top of the RR track hill and watched the PD investigate. When some one pointed him out, he ran, got caught. I spent the next 2 yrs sitting in a court room 1 day per month until they plea bargained 1st degree down to 2nd, with a range of 10-30 yrs, he was given 20. Even threatened to kill any one who testified against him FROM JAIL I fought the first of 6 parole hearings just 10 months later. Eked out 14.5 yrs until he maxed out his ‘bad behavior’ time. He now walks the streets of TN a free man, my Jeremy lies in a cold grave.
Which is why my husband made me learn to shoot and get my permit.

This is going on 20 years of appeals. DNA & confession proved he did it.
He raped, strangled to death with her OWN SHOE LACES Nicki Read and then threw her body in the river. Even helped hunt for what was thought to be a missing child. The INJUSTICE system does not give a flip how much money or grief it causes the victim’s family to have this crap delayed and delayed, and then finally some anti-death penalty justice will void the sentence and give life with parole, which means more grief to fight the suckers. And criminals have MORE rights that the victim or victim’s family!
Governor Bill Halsam has yet to set a date or sign the death warrant, ask him how long Nicki’s mom has to wait for justice.

Genetics determines a lot about you—your basic personality traits, your intelligence, your aptitudes, etc. You have free will, but your choices are shaped by the genes you were born with.
I am, by genetics, a strong introvert. I have no control over this, I was born this way. Hence, it is unlikely that I will ever choose a career in telemarketing or door-to-door sales. By my free will, I chose a career that minimizes interactions with strangers—that is compatible with my genetic predispositions.
I will say that there is a predisposition to aggression. How that aggression is directed is a matter of how a child is raised. A kid who plays violent video games does not become violent as a result. A kid can become violent if he is raised in an abusive family.
This is all BUllSHshIYT- I was introvert til age 25 then became a salesman by accidently forced to find a job and watched people making money just by TALKING, became totally extroverted, when I found out I could make lotsa money by just talking to people..

I know of several introverts that started computer ,high tech & internet companies. Immediately after the smell of money came into their company their whole personalities changed and they became the greatest extroverts , etc.because they know they could sell their ideas and make LOTSA MONEY -

I personally for 20 years know a founder of nVision, since he was a kid, totally introvert but became the greatest multimillionaire salesman for nVision once he saw the buck rolling in..
I personally know a girl who was totally introverted scientist, always studying, experimenting- but when she discovered she could raise millions of dollars by her discoveries- no problem -she`s right up there on the podium totally extroverted to speak to her SHAREHOLDERS>

Do you have children? If so, have you ever noticed that each one of them has a distinct personality—despite being raised by the same parents in the same environment? Personality is shaped by genetics.
The idea that human beings are born as identical blank slates waiting to have whatever written on them was discarded decades ago.
Introversion/extraversion are inborn traits. An introvert *can* speak in public—that does not mean that he or she is an extravert. What it means is that the person MUST have a period of alone-time to rest after being social. As I said before, I am a strong introvert, and that is not going to change. Despite that, I often give briefings, sometimes to audiences of hundreds. People tell me that I am very good at it. However, at the end of the day, I need time alone to recover.
I can guarantee you that I am not salesperson material. It doesn’t matter how much money can be earned like that—it won’t happen. Most people do not have the qualities that make good salespeople—which is why companies that depend on aggressive sales tactics are always trying to recruit salespeople. The question is, would I be able to take you, a high-powered salesman, and make a conscientious and careful laboratory technician out of you? Do you have the qualities needed to learn sterile technique, to run the same tests and assays hundreds of times and analyze the same results? Would you be as excited to see the results the thousandth time you ran the assay as you were the first time? If you do not already have the inborn qualities that make a good scientist, no amount of training will give them to you, period.
The genes that guide formation of the neural circuitry are as individual as the genes that control your eye color, hair color, blood type, height, body shape, etc. Whether you have an aptitude for mathematics or prefer squishy subjects like English or sociology, if you are athletic or a total klutz, whether your IQ is high or low—these are all genetically determined features of your brain. Where environment comes in is after recognizing that a child has certain aptitudes, and then training the child to make the best use of them.
Some people never go out into the real world and try to do diverse things- they just read books.
I was salesman, a nuclear researcher at a national lab, A q/a q/c tech. a laser technician, a CEO, a manufacturing manager, a skin cancer research associate for 4 years working with 2 major universities, a post grad teacher of engineering studemts-

My sister was a organic lab experimenter for 10 years, raised horses, became a head of govt agency enforcement- taught university- she conducted experiments but was never an introvert-
My other sister was water pollution control lab researcher and did experiments for 15 years= she ain`t no introvert lemme tellya

Nothing you have said in any way negates the influence of genetics on a person’s personality or preferences. In fact, you are providing a great example of just how different people are from each other—which would not be the case if genetics did not determine our basic personalities. Just the fact that you seem to think that the prospect of earning lots of money is enough to turn anyone into a salesperson, while I can’t imagine *any* incentive compelling enough to want to go into sales illustrates that concept quite clearly.
Isn’t it the case that people buy certain breeds of dogs because they want specific temperaments in their pets? How would that work, if temperament were not genetically determined?
BTW, just because my life experiences are different than yours does not mean that I have no experience in the real world. I have plenty of real-world experience, thank you very much.
