As it is in a pistol caliber it is quite easy for a woman to shoot and control which makes it very good for home defense. It is also deadly and these thugs were darned lucky she wasn't aiming it at them even though she should have been.

Shot gun would have been more effective. Obviously need some range time to include “quick kill” training. At least the family took the advice of Detroit's Police Chief.
