Yikes, too young to go. RIP.
Sorry to hear it, but he’s past my time.
I was of the Jake the Snake and Hacksaw Jim demographic.
A lot of pro wrestlers have died young - this guy had to weigh close to 500 pounds.
Seems to me the life expectancy of wrestlers isn’t very high.
I remember him as Mabel, a real shame..RIP
I was of the Pedro Morales and Tony Garea generation. I’ve never heard of Big Daddy V.
Many are on steroids, which predisposes them to a higher risk of heart disease. Through in being on the road constantly, eating diner food, and being constantly slammed down, even if the mat is padded.
What if he told you to?
so the spandex finally gave way.
There seems to be a common malady in the ring of a disproportional imbalance of blood in the cholesterol
Just looking at his pix, he most likely had very high blood pressure, in addition to coronary artery disease, and being black, all working against him. I’m not surprised he kicked it when he did. He was a complete setup for a massive MI.
I was of the Jake the Snake and Hacksaw Jim demographic.

LOL. For me, Bruno San Martino.
It was so long ago, I think that was his name.
Sixteen comments and nothing about steroids yet.
Sure the guy was a lardass, but they all do the ‘roids, too.
I grew up with Championship Wrestling in the Midwest Circuit, late 60s, early 70s. If it was on at grandpa Repcheff’s, it’s what we were watching.

This guy reminds me of another guy from that time. Abdullah the butcher. Although he lived a lot longer and might even still be alive. Also owned what was supposed to be a great ribs restaurant in KC? Also supposed to have been a real nice guy.
