I just hate that non-pit bull breeds get painted with the same brush. My Black Mouth Mountain Cur (a squirrel dog) freaked out my insurance agent. As did my Great Dane. He said they were both “pits” and I had to get rid of them. I got rid of the insurance company. In his words, anything with mastiff or bulldog ancestry was classified as a pit bull for insurance purposes. I told him he was an idiot.

And those classifications are used to label pit bulls as the dog that commits the most attack. In those studies, little attempt is made to differentiate between a true pit bull vs a Mastiff or a bulldog or a boxer.
