I have a few good knives. The largest is a cold steel scout recon. A bit large/heavy for carrying but its heavy and sharp. Good for cutting through small branches or limbs of attackers. Its a knife I’ve carried into the woods when I knew I would be miles from any other people.
I also have a tomahawk. :)
Lost all my guns in a terrible accident.
A 12ga will kill faster if the folks are in range. A 10/22 has a higher rate of fire and a longer range.
Both have their uses. I’ve never met anyone who wanted to be shot with a .22. Those generally won’t kill you fast but you will bleed out eventually.
“I trust the KO power of my 12ga more so
than a 10/22. Personal preference. A 22
handgun might make for a close-in B/U
but I would prepare for a second round to the
head.”
Sure. But zombies are just not that hard to kill. There are just a LOT of them. So speed, rate of fire, and ammo are king.
They also hear well, and a 10/22 suppressed is basically silent.

Your main enemy is walkers, not people. So it has to be head shots. I can do follow up shots all day long with a Ruger 10/22.
I think I’d add a laser to it, in addition to the suppressor.
I have met someone who wanted to be shot by .22 .
He got drunk and shot himself in the big toe after
being drafted during Vietnam.
The subject being zombies, I don’t see the need to “kill”
at great distances.
I would have a spear for my primary weapon, just to save ammo. Long handle would give me a chance to get them at some range. If I screw up then a gun or knife to finish.
If there was a team then I would think a phlanx would be good.
But something they should do is to operate a ham radio to find out what is going on around the world. Use a solar cell for power.
A knife thrust to the head didn’t help Rick against
a large walker. Carl came to the rescue w/a larger
cal handgun.
While you guys are worried about my safety the zombies
are creeping up behind you! Ha!
If were talking walkers, then ok.
Zombies in real life would be an ar15.
I vaguely remember that....I was in junior high at the time.
The first is “Dead.”
The secoond is “Inside.”
By the time my wife tried to enter the game was closed. Oh well, maybe next time.
Carl and the girls are thrusting knives through walker skulls. Ergo their skulls are mush. I’m with jewbacca. I’m too old to be carrying thousands of rounds of 5.56 but I can handle thousands of rounds of 22lr no problem. Plus Ruger has a nice little bayonet for the 10/22. I’d carry my 1911 for bad humans but the enemy is basically walkers.
Good choice. Carry something on your hip for Governor types with a bit more stopping power and you’re all set. Of curse I would also have tried to find a deuce and a half and a small tanker but most of all I’d be looking for an island on a fresh water lake.
They do look a lot a like. Metallica music would go nicely with TWD.
I think it would all depend on how long the walkers had been dead and correct shot placement. Considering all options, I think that 5.56 or 7.62x39 (for ak pattern rifles) would have the most uses, considering dead walkers and living predators that is.
“Of curse I would also have tried to find a deuce and a half and a small tanker”
I would opt for a Peterbuilt with a sleeper, hauling food or diesel or both in tandem.
ALERT! Daryl’s coming up on the Kelly Rippa and Michael Strahan show this morning.......
RATS! I guess I missed it. Going to see if I can find it on Youtube later. 15 minutes of Daryl to date in this season just ain't enough.
Thanks for the heads up; I appreciate it. ;)
I said the very same thing when Lilith was born. Having a baby during a zombiepocalypse is the last thing one needs......
Sorry, I meant to type Judith
