Please, Dear Lord, grant me that serenity! I have been at toil for some long time!

 "Dia shábháil ar fad anseo!"

Genuflectimus non ad principem sed ad Principem Pacis!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

Love your tagline.
So true - it’s not what happens to you, it’s what you do after it happens.

Thank you one and all. Remember what humility is. Humility is knowing you’re not God. Try to live usefully each day and walk humbly under the eyes of God.

Good timing, thanks. I hope it’s ok if I post the full prayer as attributed to Niebuhr.
God, give me grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen.

Thank you. No coincidence. My first day without a drink was Sunday, February the 23rd, 1990. This year the 23rd. is also a Sunday.
