It always amazes me when people run away from conservatism. Look at Patricia Heaton .a big time conservative who not only had one hit tv show, she is working on her next one already. You can be conservative in Hollywood and still be a success. It always stunned me when I see actors and actresses become liberal (especially if they grew up in the Mid-West) for no other reason then taxes. Why would you want to pay 60 percent of your movie profits to the federal government and then add state taxes which in California are not cheep. That part always was a mystery to me. Heck even if you make 20 million a film and end up with 7 million to me is a rip off.
The Coolness Factor and groupthink are tough for conservatives to overcome. And actors are notoriously insecure and prone to feeling unworthy of their good fortune. And when they get rich they have smart-alecky accountants to help them dodge taxes just like evil Republican businessmen.
While Patricia Heaton is very pro-life, which is very rare in Hollywood, she still follows the industry line on gay rights. That issue, it seems, stands above all others. I’m sure Maria Conchita Alonso also supports gay rights, considering her attempted appearance in “The Vagina Monologues”. Of course, she broke a cardinal rule by supporting a conservative politician.
Patricia Heaton is conservative, but she does support gay marriage as do other Hollywood “conservatives” like Clint Eastwood. How many big name people in Hollywood support traditional marriage?
