If you think you will need the kero heater it might be a good idea to put some kero in the tank and let it soak for a few hours before you light it. The wick can be damaged otherwise...although I have started kero heaters without letting them soak much.

If you haven't used one before MAKE SURE YOU READ ABOUT SETTING THE FLAME HEIGHT!

In my house nothing said the beginning of the holidays like the smell of kerosene, LOL.

Thanks for those tips! I don’t ever remember losing power growing up in Baldwin and I don’t think my family ever had a plan “B”.
