Joe Walsh and Gary Clark Jr. Just did a smokin’ version!
The talent on that stage! ... Have you seen the guy who plays it on a Uke?
No, but I have seen Paul, Ringo, George, Steve Lukather, Joe Walsh, Keith Urban, & Brad Paisley.
What a pleasure it was to watch professional musicians perform a song that I’ve never been a huge fan of . . . thanks.
There was a “George Harrison and Friends” tour back in the early 70’s with Billy Preston, Ringo Starr, Ravi Shankar, IIRC. The Byrds opened with the chestnut mare album era songs - it was a great concert and George closed the set with “While my guitar gently weeps.” It was at the university of Washington basketball arena.
Prince’s guitar was not gently weeping. Screaming like a porn star, maybe, but not gently weeping. (It’s easy to forget amongst Prince generally being a weirdo that he’s an astounding musician and pretty amazing guitarist.)

And I’ve heard evidence that he is not your everyday hard leftist, statist, Obama groupie rock star either. But I know Paul and Ringo are and George Harrison and John Lennon would be, which is why it is a surprise than any Freepers tolerate them at all.
Could they not find at least ONE person with talent to perform?
A good number of people do not realize how talented Prince is. I do not think there is an instrument he can not play. The man can make an entire album by himself, and that includes all the production involved.
Yeah, I saw him live at UCONN a year ago. His name is Jake Shimabukuro. He’s amazing. He also did Bohemian Rhapsody on the ukulele.
This melody and lyric was stolen from me by the Beatles.
It’s a thinly disguised ripoff of my original song “While My Trombone Sobs Uncontrollably.”
I’m suing for plagiarism, back royalties and punitive damages and will be retiring soon to Costa Rica.
Oh yea,Joe Walsh tore the house down tonight at the Beatles Tribute!!
Here’s another music thread for you.
Lennon was showing some signs of not drinking the Kool-Aid. Check the lyrics to Revolution carefully, for instance.
