I keep seeing on my facebook feed that apparently us conservatives are protesting coca cola or something? Is that some sort of reflection from liberals that they just assume we all had a conniption over it? I haven't seen anybody even discuss or show anger on it on freerepublic or conservative blogs. I highly doubt Rush Limbaugh has even mentioned it.
I honestly think they are making up the controversy because where is our outrage? I think this is how they view us to be racists and narrow minded and just assumed we would be angry about some ad
Yes. I’d have been OK with each of the singers at least trying to sing in English, even if very heavily accented.
I didn’t like it. It re-enforces the idea that you can come here an not learn English.
I saw a cartoon on Facebook showing a “Republican” screaming about the Coke ad, AND the Cheerios biracial marriage ad, and a Budweiser ad with a dog and a horse that supposedly (according to the “Republican”) was about gay marriage.
Jesus, really? Never mind the couple of million natives and the hundreds of languages they spoke, Spanish was widely spoken over a huge area that later became the US for hundreds of years before your precious English speakers showed up. Arabic was spoken in North America before English was, for heaven’s sake...
” The feel good multiKulti bs is aggravating. “

So, you want to be divorced from the rest of the world...Go live on a desert island somewhere.
The people in these ad agencies probably don’t know a single conservative or Tea Party member, so they have to make things up about what we believe. I especially don’t get the hate around the Tea Party. TP is purely Constitutional small government and freedom supporting. What’s hateful about that??
You bet, those who support this kind of PC BS are likely in on the PC con-job or have a few bucks invested in this multiculti fat corp who routinely throws money on leftist.
Profits regardless of consequences.
If this multiculti multibillion $ fatcorp want to sing blowing in the wind in 20 different languages on our soil, I could care less.
But Star Spangled Banner? America the Beautiful?
They can kiss my azz.
You don’t even know the Spanish history of what is now our SW. It was under Indian control. Indians who vastly outnumbered the Spanish speakers. Apache and Comanche etc languages were spoken you dolt.
All you libs don’t want America as a nation. You want it as an economic zone.
I think most on Hot Air didn't care. Free Republic had a few posts on it. I recall one in particular that had north of a hundred disapproving comments.
I assumed I was in a minority position of not giving enough of a care to even post that I didn't care.
I'm not sure how many others cared less than the hundred that did. Lol.
No. It was okay by me.
Yeah - that’s why there’re so many Apache and Comanche place names in the southwest. Places like Los Angeles, El Paso, Colorado, Amarillo, San Antonio, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, etc., etc., etc.
I thought it was distasteful and stupid then I found out the CEO of Coke is a Muslim and is a big Amnesty pusher. So yeah that ad has a deeper meaning. Boycott Coke.
So? Geez, get a life.
True dat....my lib family picked up on 3 or 4 idiots claiming this add disrespected our national anthem. Of course, it was posted all over as proof conservatives are haters. My reply: msnbc has an entire network dedicated to hate. The hypocracy of the liberal elite is mind blowing....they’re so busy being right about everything wrong, even they lose track of a small problem: facts.
The author was in a relationship commonly called a Boston Romance. I didn’t think that was a big thing. It’s essentially two unmarried women who lived together most of their adult lives. I’m sure some were lesbians just as I’m sure most weren’t. We’ll probably never know one way or the other as modesty forbade them blabbing about their sex life.
All that, however, is beside the point.
The song is the thing. It’s not about her.
I certainly could care less. I’ve seen some outrage but I find it silly.
