Okay, I need to know this BEFORE I give my husband his tablet for...all the gifts for the next year. Purchased a tablet for him because he will be spending time with his dad who is in a care center/home bound about an hour from our house. Only internet access for him will be at the care center and husband needs something to bide his time.

How does a guy transport a tablet from place to place? I have a purse, obviously transport is NOT an issue. What sort of bag, luggage, case, does a guy use and not look like sissified? I KNOW the issue will come up as he's all about not looking like a metrosexual. LOL

Help...

I have a Galaxy Tab 3, 10.1” with a Logitec Bluetooth keyboard case. Great combination. Does everything I need; and it syncs with my Galaxy III phone.

If he is a reader and listens to music, hands down kindle wins.

Kindle++ it is. Loves to read, loves music and movies. He despises Google anything so just a straight android tablet (like my bloatware Samsung Galaxy) would have not been good. iPad was way out of my price range. Add Prime to the mix and he should be happy...

My wife and I have kindle fires. Daughter has Fire HD.

For what I do the Fire is plenty. I listen to music and read books and on occasion use it for Facebook and such but I prefer my Computer for internet stuff. I want a real keyboard when I am on the internet.

Daughter loves her Fire HD but she is at college and it work for her because she is constantly on the go and then standing in line etc. So she uses it for the internet as well. It has more HD storage and a camera built in she uses it for art projects and such.

Get him a nice black leather cover. He will carry it in his hand. The cover is to keep it from getting busted when he tosses his backpack on it.

Yup, I’m sure glad it wasn’t coming from Free Republic. Thanks to all for letting me know it wasn’t a FR thing. Malwarebytes took care of it. I hadn’t used Malwarebytes for a long time, so I had to redownload it onto this computer.

Do you know what is with the ads in the threads? I’m seeing a Domino’s Pizza ad in your post.

It's called MalWare and you got it good. Time to let MalWareBytes do the work on this nasty.

Having had my Kindle for less than a week, I haven’t solved the problem.

I have yet to learn how to make books on the kindle available to the library to read.

They are on the kindle when viewed in the computer directory but can’t be found on the kindle

I recommend a smaller tablet for improved portability; I have an iPad Mini. This assumes a regular computer back home for serious work.

For carry, I have a leather folio case. It make the device look like a day planner type thing. Something like this:

There’s nothing metrosexual about carrying a book, and carrying a tablet is no different. You can even get tablet covers that make them look like hardback books.

Someone probably already suggested an Otterbox. My case has a built-in stand. They are strong and offer excellent protection. Their guarantee is 2nd to none.

I hope that God blesses you, your husband, and his father.

Eph 6:1b - (this is the first commandment with a promise)

I have been through those long hours of rehabilitation. The iPad will help pass the time.

Ask your husband to check out the free offerings for the Olive Tree app. I believe this will help pass the time in a very beneficial way.
