I wrote a book report on Moby Dick from the Classics comic book version of Melville’s story. Got a B. Assigning that novel to a 12 year old is child abuse, IMHO.

i skipped a good middle chunk of Moby Dick... too much detail! and i cannot get passed the third chapter of A Tale of Two Cities... but i have read a lot of Dickens... and i love Les Miserables, that is my fave of all the classics... i have even read quite a bit of the Greeks, but for some reason i have an aversion to A Tale of Two Cities!

Those classics comics were fantastic. What I did to enhance book reports is read the comic book plus one chapter of the regular book. I found that if I added just one or two details from that chapter that weren't in the comic, I'd get an A.

I have a confession to make. I never did, and as far as I know still don't, understand one word Shakespeare wrote.

I wrote a book report on Moby Dick in the 5th grade. Don't ask me what I made ... that was a loooooooooooong time ago.

I found it to be an easy read. I’ve read it twice. Whenever someone says they have read it I ask a simple question to see if they did or didn’t.

What was Ahab’s artificial leg made of when he was killed?
or
What did Ahab give the blacksmith to make into a harpoon?
