Multilingual "America the Beautiful"?
Needed to grab some Cokes at the grocery store tomorrow. I’ll be picking up RC Cola instead.
Haven’t been watching the SuperBowl, but had just turned the tv-set on, and decided to check on the score, out of curiosity. Ugh. The whole manic hyping of the Bowl and the commercials has become so obnoxiously over-the-top that it’s become a massive turn-off for me. I’m sure, as usual, the news-channels will be blathering endlessly about all the commercials, all day tomorrow. I don’t even think I’ll turn the news on for the entire day.
Exactly what was said at my dinner table - our 15yo couldn't quite grasp what her father and my problem with it was.
I was not offended.
Better than most of the stuff in first half.
Ever try the Blue Line from Long Beach? I dare anyone here to ride it past 10 PM especially when it stops by Compton and Rosa parks. It’s like Boyz N The Hood’ in 3D.
Majority of commercials suck, so does the Game!
At first, I didn’t like it, because I thought it was only going to be English and Spanish, but when they brought in all the languages, I sorta liked it. I gave it a thumbs up.
Fail....
Sad how aliens can come here and cling to their homeland, but being an American patriot is frowned upon as “supremacist”.
What language is the half time in?
At least they did not edit out the part with God in it.
No she won't.

LOL
“What language is the half time in?”
Noise.
They want money. That’s all.
Turned it the feck off. Screw them.
When I have to visit Los Angeles, I try to base myself in Valencia or Thousand Oaks. Anywhere else and my insurance premiums will go up.
:)
1. I didn’t think it was a big deal. There have always been people here whose first language is not English. Whatever. At least they chose a patriotic song, not a repeat of some globalist “teach the world to sing” drivel.
2. People complaining about the ad should keep in mind that anything you say may be used as part of a leftist “see!i told you conservatives are racist” narrative. Just be careful what you write.
At first I thought, “Oh, no, another politically correct liberal feel-good promotion.” Maybe they intended it that way, who knows.
But they did some interesting things.
They sang the verse “God shed his grace on thee” in English quite prominently as they switched languages.
They also sang in HEBREW.
Other things were OK too.
Not everything that seems politically correct is fully bad. We do not live in isolation and this might be OK for public consumption by the entire world and by low information voters who are generally irrational and can only be won over by gradually educating them.
Remember that this is an advertisement not only to these USA, but to the world.
And we believe America is Beautiful (which was their tag line) and that God Shed His Grace On Thee!” and we are happy to have Israel sing with us. It’s kind of a good message about these USA.
English but the dude singing looks like a fruit.
Yes, the reactions to it will be used exactly for the motives you mention. This is how they bait.
