5 College Football Programs That Produce the Most Super Bowl Players
Bleacher Report ^ | 2-1-14 | Amy Daughters

Did you know that the SEC has the most players in this season’s Super Bowl?

Yes, college football’s most dominant conference has 31 players dotted among Seattle and Denver’s rosters. This gives it an eight-player advantage over the second-place finisher Pac-12, according to Jon Solomon of AL.com.

It’s yet another notch in the SEC’s big, bad belt.

Since the Super Bowl has been going on for almost 50 years—way longer than the SEC’s current reign—could it be that teams from other conferences are the real all-time leaders?

To answer this, we scoured Pro-Football Reference’s Super Bowl rosters for all 48 games in history.

Don't like Pete much. Really like MRob. Sort of like Peyton. Gotta go with the hawks I guess.

The joke is the SEC and Pac12 never play each other in bowl games.

The two best conferences don’t play each other.

An ex-Wisconsin player will have a huge impact on the game.

If you include this year’s tilt between Denver and Seattle, 96 teams have ascended to the Super Bowl since it debuted in 1966.

The first Super Bowl was in 1967.

A much more accurate rating would be which teams or conferences have the most players in the NFL.

I know the MVP of the first three Superbowls were all QBs from Alabama.

The two best conferences don’t play each other.

It will be up to the schools now records now. Let the bitching begin that the SEC and PAC 12 dominate the playoffs probably at least 2 teams every year. Those conferences will also have more money to pay the players.

The PAC 12 was good this year but they aren’t the second best league

Stabler was maybe the most accurate passer ever. He could throw the long ball and put it right on the money just about every time.

Who spent most of his career at Maryland (?), NC State(?). Anyway he’s a really good player. Peyton wins but still b a good game.

The FCS school players would most likely have played in the SEC if they qualified academically. Seeing how bad the SEC schools are in academics, that is really a sad state of affairs.

They’ve played a few games in the last decade or so. SEC seems to win more than they lose.

http://blogs.mercurynews.com/collegesports/2013/08/28/pac-12-football-head-to-head-vs-the-sec/

Maybe they could drum up more games if they moved the Rose Bowl back to the Southeast. Of course, last time they did that, the game was against a Southern Conference team, not an SEC team.
