Why spend tax dollars to coddle those chasing a high.

What tax dollars would that be? Do you think regulated industries don't ultimately pay for the cost of their regulation?

Do you think Colorado is losing money on the regulation of their pot stores?

I know what your saying, and it’s hard to disagree - but isn’t their a basic politeness at play here? If one decides to appear in public in hot pants, out of courtesy, is it not my part to look?

“Now you sound like a libertarian” to borrow from Martha Stewart-and it’s a good thing...

Amen to not letting the government rake in more bribes-it is already ruinous and corrupt...

I think looking keeps us young-hell, I look, and I looked when I was married, too.

i despise libertarianism. i’m merely positing that if they are so bound and determined to have their vices, they should have them without everyone else coddling them by making them safer. if it’s so damn essential that you get high, then take your damn chances.

It was harmless amusement for the rest of us on the road-the only time it got dicey was when the loon was running amok and forgetting she had a teenage son-even then, we just arranged to have him stay at each home for a couple of nights then rotate him to the next one, etc, while everyone’s kids kept him surrounded and unseen on the schoolbus, or one of us gave him a ride to and from school-and we all lied to CPS when they came calling. They finally gave up and went away, so it turned out well for all.

Whatever I do or do not choose to participate in or ignore, it is better than being in the city where everyone is living within 20 feet of each other or less, and peeking out the miniblinds at the next door neighbor’s yard with one hand poised over the keypad on the cellphone to call the cops because they don’t like the music, hear something they find provocative or vulgar, or see a naked ass...

I’d far rather be poor and trashy in the country than royalty in the city

It is just one thing after another these days - abortion on demand and we’re paying for it; gay marriage and we are attacked if we don’t support it 100%; now legalizing drugs - so what is next? No age limit on marriage? Some here think prostitution should be legalized, how about child porn? it is an illegal activity = why not let the feds regulate and tax it? You know, then only children who WANT to pose for it would be allowed, since the government would be controlling it.

Lord knows what planet xshub will need to be on so as to not watch/watch surreptitiously. he can’t stay at home and watch bc he’s in danger of breaking something if they start playing poorly. so he’s either in his ofc or in the car listening on xm radio to the game or keeping track on his twitter feed how it’s going. then if they win, he’s up til all hours watching the replay online and reading/listening to every syllable pronounced about the game. he is lit insane.

In a free market I have recourse for someone selling me an adulterated or mislabeled product.

With a black market, there is no recourse.

That is the point.

Your desire to have people die because they don’t behave as you desire is troubling.

You don’t need cheesecake and coffee to live either, and I don’t like them. So let’s lets deregulate them, too.

And if you buy some coffee while traveling to Syracuse and it makes you sick, tough.

It is more a concept of limited government involvement in one’s business and life than a rigid philosophy, to me-much of my thinking is libertarian-and I’m a little bit right of Attila the Hun-I would hate to think you despise me. All the libertarians I know are conservative and vote republican, as I do. The only thing I can see that liberals have to do with a libertarian philosophy is when it affirms their controlling agenda in some way...
