There are cruise lines that I’d never get on, and the Royal Carribbean is one of them.

The Cunard and Seabourn cruise lines seem to be better than most.

I agree. What can one do on a cruise that they can not do on land? I know, spend a lot of money to see a lot of water.
What does an average Love Boat cruise cost for two people?

Are you kidding? Cruises are a fantastic vacation. They got nightclubs, casinos, swimming, just about anything you want. And nothing but clear blue water in the tropics.

Don't let the headlines scare you. Cruises are safe, affordable, and relaxing. Many seniors, in fact, are retiring on cruises rather than living in nursing homes.

I think I saw that they plan to donate the uneaten
food to the homeless or a food bank...

Wouldn’t surprise me.

I got sick on the Oct. Summit cruise, I detest the Port of Bayonne.

Agree with you on cruises.
And the good news is all the bad pub keeps prices low!

I hope it doesn't collide with the diseased cannibal ghost rat ship before it docks.

I agree. I have done 21 cruises to date. Cruise ships are simply resorts traveling from city to city. The only bad cruise was when I came down with shingles on the first day out. Ugh. Ship MD had the anti-virals and had to stay in the cabin for two days, but otherwise they are fun and relaxing vacations.

I’m leaving on a cruise out of Bayonne in May but we’re doing a red-eye into Newark from LA and then straight to the ship.

500 people “sick”. I’d bet it breaks down like this:

5 people were sick when they got there.
10 people got sick from exposure to those people.

20 people heard about the 15 sick people and told another 100 people about an “outbreak”. Those 100 people told another 1000 people... Of whom at least 300 decided that faking it was a cheap way to get a free ticket for another cruise, and 185 are hypochondriacs that can’t hear about a disease without believing they are catching it.

It’s “sick building syndrome”. Or “black mold syndrome” in schools. It’s an entirely psychosomatic disorder where suddenly even the slightest sniffle is evidence, even when it’s not.

Why did you have to stay in your cabin with shingles? It’s not communicative is it?

A family tiff seems to be developing. I don't know if we should leave, but I definitely advise skipping the fish course.

Zombie plague, don’t let them off the ship. They are turning into flesh eating zombies! You’ve been warned! Well, there’s a potential script there ready for Hollywood.

One of my greatest vacations Ever was aboard a RC cruise ship.
The GF broke up with me the week before which made my solo trip even better....

All this yip-yip-yapping about cruise ships.

Well I tell you, cruise ships are about the best vacation bargain you can get.

No time share people hassling you and that's just the start.

Unlimited and I say again, unlimited, amounts of food. Some of the best food you will ever have. They even throw food baskets in your cabin - just in case you are still hungry after the 7 meals they serve each day. And if you eat a banana and leave your cabin for five minutes, they somehow find a way to replenish that banana without you ever seeing them. I have no idea how they do that.

Even if you are hungry at midnight, you can go to the midnight buffet deck and cram all the shrimp, lobster tail and other seafood into your stomach that you can fit. Along with crackers and about 300 types of exotic cheeses and other toppings.

There are about 20 different bars on a given cruise ship. You will never have time to visit them all even if you are a hardened alcoholic.

Swimming pools, casinos, skeet shooting, billiards, you name it, it's probably on the cruise ship in some form or another.

There is so much to do on a cruise ship that when it goes into port, you sometimes don't even want to get off.

Best $5,000 you will ever spend on a 7 to 10 day vacation.

And did I mention no time share vultures trying to bribe you into a four-hour high-pressure workout?

What planet did you visit?

Our 5 day cruise was $209 each
