Around the world, obesity levels are rising. More people are now overweight than undernourished. Two thirds of British adults are overweight and one in four of us is classified as obese. In the first of this three-part series, Jacques Peretti traces those responsible for revolutionising our eating habits, to find out how decisions made in America 40 years ago influence the way we eat now.
Peretti travels to America to investigate the story of high-fructose corn syrup. The sweetener was championed in the US in the 1970s by Richard Nixon's agriculture secretary Earl Butz to make use of the excess corn grown by farmers. Cheaper and sweeter than sugar, it soon found its way into almost all processed foods and soft drinks. HFCS is not only sweeter than sugar, it also interferes with leptin, the hormone that controls appetite, so once you start eating or drinking it, you don't know when to stop.
Endocrinologist Robert Lustig was one of the first to recognise the dangers of HFCS but his findings were discredited at the time. Meanwhile a US Congress report blamed fat, not sugar, for the disturbing rise in cardio-vascular disease and the food industry responded with ranges of 'low fat', 'heart healthy' products in which the fat was removed - but the substitute was yet more sugar.
Meanwhile, in 1970s Britain, food manufacturers used advertising campaigns to promote the idea of snacking between meals. Outside the home, fast food chains offered clean, bright premises with tempting burgers cooked and served with a very un-British zeal and efficiency. Twenty years after the arrival of McDonalds, the number of fast food outlets in Britain had quadrupled

4- GMO Food It's Worse Than We Thought - Dr. Russell Blaylock
Good Science has learn our God given food has the ability to turn on or off good and bad things in our bodies.
GMO Food It's Worse Than We Thought
Over the last decade, as genetically modified, or GMO, foods have increasingly taken over our food supply, we've been learning more about their dangers to our health.
Now, one courageous doctor is pointing to mounting evidence that leaves no doubt GMO foods are even worse than we were told.
As this respected doctor points out in a riveting new presentation, no long-term human studies have ever supported GMO safety. Shockingly, the World Health Organization only requires a mere 90 days of testing to claim that GMOs are safe. Well, no one dies from smoking cigarettes within 90 days of starting to smoke, either!
Yet while lifetime studies still have not been done on humans, scientists have done these studies on animals and what they found is stunning. Lab mice fed just a 33 percent GMO diet begin developing aggressive cancers (particularly breast cancer), liver failure, and kidney failure.
Shockingly, 50 percent of the males and 70 percent of the female animals on the GMO diet succumbed to early death at an age equivalent to 40 to 50 human years.
While more people have begun to fight back against GMOs, the big GMO companies spend millions of dollars to defeat laws that would require GMO labeling. Quite simply, these big companies know that GMO crops are cheaper to grow, and therefore more profitable.
In the meantime, many health experts now warn us to take the only positive action available to protect our health avoiding GMOs as much as humanly possible. But considering the fact that GMOs are hidden in over 30,000 food products, that is not an easy task.
Fortunately, one courageous doctor has stepped up to the plate. Dr. Russell Blaylock, one of America's leading medical researchers and nutritionists, has created a special free video presentation that explains the hidden health hazards of GMOs. Dr. Blaylock will show you how to protect your family from GMOs and their dangers aisle by aisle at the grocery store.
Dr. Blaylock's new video presentation exposes how GMO ingredients and other harmful additives are hidden on labels under safe-sounding names. In fact, you'll see some of the actual labels and find out what to watch for.
And those stickers pasted onto fruits and vegetables? Using real examples, you'll learn a simple way to tell the difference between GMO produce that may also be packed with harmful pesticides and herbicides, and produce that is safe and natural.
Cracking the GMO Code
Travis Davis, health publisher at Newsmax, previewed Dr. Blaylock's presentation for our readers and reports: "GMOs enter your body through thousands of packaged and canned food products, through fresh produce, and through the meat, chicken, and fish you eat. The expert help Dr. Blaylock offers in this video reveals everything you need to know to avoid GMOs at the grocery store as well as restaurants."
Since the introduction of GMO foods, many cancers and other diseases have skyrocketed in humans. Can this really be a coincidence? Please use the information available in this online educational presentation, Cracking the GMO Code to help protect your own health and the health of your family.
Renowned former neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, M.D., left conventional medicine after decades of practice to concentrate on nutrition and disease prevention. He is the author of several health books and medical editor of The Blaylock Wellness Report.
Editor's Note: This video blows the lid off the GMO controversy and exposes little-known dangers. Plus, you'll see exactly how to avoid GMOs in their many hidden forms, in grocery stores and in restaurants. © 2013 NewsmaxHealth. All rights reserved.
I find that most people who want to try and blame others for obesity are themselves fat.

It seems some people out themselves, how indifferent they are to their fellowman... don't expect to fine Agape love in their heart!
It is not about over eating etc.
My dear did you even watch the documentary it is really not about the buzz word "FAT" that the media have condition America to knee jerk react to... shut down the conversation and the nation is no wiser about our health going to hell in a hand cart!
It is about the designs of men who infiltrated our nation in our government, military, and our farmlands etc

Even those with means are making plans to escape NYCYou don't think it is headed that way..
Also I fine if you go way way uptown the food is cheaper I was near upper west side W 73rd but than the Clintons have caused the rents to go up in Harlem and some of those areas
Being on the world's Health Care merry go around is like domino's, big Pharma and the Chemical co control every thing call that food, yes it is tasty and some addicting, and in the end we are nothing but "cash cows" for the Big Pharma... and all ones life savings is suck up in the termination homes where you spend the rest of your days sedated...
Oh, PLEASE. It has nothing to do with indifference or "fine agape love.". It has to do with the truth.
Look, I agree that high fructose corn syrup is very unhealthy stuff. That's why I avoid bringing it into the house. It's true that HCFS is found in a lot of products, but it's easy to inform yourself by reading the label. Then you can make another choice, if that's what you want to do.
The woman at 3:14 said you have to be really determined and strong to keep from eating a whole bag of junk food once you start. I assume the point is that HFCS causes cravings that are hard to deal with. This may or may not be so, but if you don't bring that bag of junk into the house in the first place, there's no temptation at all.
Sorry, but it is IS about personal choice. No one can make another person fat.
Oh why do you nip pic this picture is bigger than some low information voter.

What does this even mean...?
Never mind.
Just more noise from you about GMO. The same level of junk “science” is shown for glowbull warming, too. “Studies!”, “Reports!”, “Relationships!”, “Maybe!”, “Headlines”! Oh, no!
“I find that most people who want to try and blame others for obesity are themselves fat.”
Exactly. They are childish people that think they can get something from nothing; that weight can be gained without weight eaten.
How much do you weight?

Health and the and concern for my friends and neighbors. Many are brainwash into think declining health is normal...
Well that is a big fat lie...
That bill causes declining health?
Have a cute day
Sorry if I hurt your feelings.
No you did not be thankful you did not spend almost 20 years with bum health only to fine out if you had been informed those years would not have been a waste.
I am in better health than I ever been when I change my diet and limited the GMO and CAFO foods in my life and I hoping more will realize mother nature knew best.
So the choice will be easier instead of always have to hunt on the internet for Traditional foods.
I don’t understand why it is so hard for many to “get it”, if they can control our toilets, light bulbs, wallets and we never even got a notice they were adulterating our food.
Some have horrible health issues and never knew it came from these perverted foods our bodies could not properly recognized.
What does it have to do with that terrible bill?
