How many of you knew there was a four hour rule?
It is a duplicate thread. You must wait 4 hours to re-post the same article for it not to be automatically pulled as a duplicate.
Find a similar article or wait 4 hours.

Sounds like a good rule to me. I question how automatic it is. It seems like we still have our share of dups.

The man is keepin' us down around here.
On MLK day too, no less! Tsk tsk

I thought this would be about the NFL rule that refs can only spend four hours of a game reviewing plays.

I knew it. It’s not very consistently observed. I see a lot of threads pulled for being dupes even though the last one was 8-12 hours or more since the last one. Also lots of dupes posted within an hour or two and none get pulled.

Why post a duplicate in the first place?

I’ve known about the 4 hour rule for years. It’s a reasonable way to cut down on duplicate threads.
To: mrsmith
Heck I thought it was about how long you could eat something off the floor. With Obama’s economy they will have to extend it sometime.

The point isn’t duplicate threads. The point is they don’t want you commenting on certain religious topics.

Because it’s a “caucus’ thread. Which is stupid.

is that 4 hours normal Human Time, or 4 hours according to 2 Peter 3:8 (a day is a thousand years, so 4 hours is the same as 166.6666666+ years....)
just asking...
:)
To: DManA
A 4 hour waiting period is a reasonable, common sense solution for safely posting dupes. During that 4 hours, a mad FReeper might reconsider before posting in an impulsive blind rage.

This is my point. They stick these “caucus” threads in your face buy you can’t comment on them. My point is if you can see them you should be able to comment on them.
Is that so unreasonable?
