Some actors I can’t stand because of their politics, but this is one I can’t stand simply because he cannot act whatsoever. Bland, pretty boy who has the presence and charisma of whipped cream. Chris Pine is almost as bad, and he will never be Kirk (Shatner would’ve slapped the crap out of him). They might as well have cast Hayden Christensen or that Fast & Furious guy who just died. So many movies and tv shows these days have this type of actor that is completely indistinguishable from another. Remember when they used to have stars that actually stood out and were different ? I miss that... a lot.
Droning voice with no inflections. Much like Robert Mitchum who was also over-rated, IMO.
I miss Vic Morrow. (And I was only 6 when he was killed). He was a truly talented actor AND director. He was also a manly man, not some pretty boy of limited range.
Have you ever watched “Combat!”? It is an excellent show.
I don’t think I’ve seen a single Tatum picture. He seems boring to me, everything you say.
Pine is far from Shatner, (probably the finest example of that “hammy” style of acting) but I thought he was decent in NuTrek, he was far from the biggest problem. I think the character they did best with was McCoy. Great action, very watchable films (especially the first one, Alice Eve’s t*ts are easily the best thing about the 2nd one) but many many problems.
It would be hard not to do better than George Lucas did with the putrid prequels I but I gotta worry about what JJ Abrams will do to Star Wars, can’t say I’m a fan of his.
