Don’t ever trust a cat person. Cat people are slightly weird and only care about themselves and what is in their best interest. They are very much like the cats they own in this regard.
Cats are great; just make sure you take a look-see before slamming your back door. Having lived all over and traveled the world much; either or both, depending on location and personal living conditions. In deployed areas any stray cat or dog was always welcomed. And yes, we scoffed at the rules against approaching strays. Both cats or a dogs did wonders to relieve stress. Of course, we exercised prudence and took our new four legged friends to the local military vet for shots.
I’ve always thanked the Lord for giving us a choice of a cat or a dog from which we could choose for companionship and unconditional love. I miss my departed furry friends and continue to enjoy my current ones. I pray there is a place form them in heaven.

Dogs RULE!
Cats DROOLE!
Dogs. They don’t infect their owners with brain-retarding diseases. (Yes, a majority of cats do. Look it up.)
I have both. The cats can be left alone for 2 days, just make sure enough food is left out and enough water. If the dog was left alone for more than 9 hours, sh*t everywhere and damaged furniture. Dogs are definitely a lot more work. The cats are great hunters - no vermin anywhere after about a 1 year period. The dog just likes to eat and be happy. Wouldn’t trade in either.
