This marriage was never real. The only question is whether she ever thought it was.

I'd imagine it is very much a marriage of convenience.

Though even being in a partnership with a complete narcissist (as O is) probably would be very trying and she seems predispositioned towards unhappiness anyway. It is probably a very toxic combination.

If there is any fighting, my guess is, it's all her. He seems very passive aggressive and probably never raises his voice, he just knows the buttons to push.
