Just days after Governor Terry McAuliffe (D) was sworn into office, Virginia Democratic lawmakers announced their plans to push more gun control in 2014.
The Associated Press reports the proposals include the expanded background checks which McAuliffe supported during his gubernatorial campaign.

My sympathy to rural and other America loving Virginians who may be trapped inside the "beltway" areas. What ever happened to the northeast where this country was founded and freedom was the cry of the day? (rehtorical!)

Isn't the House of Delegates firmly in Republican hands?

Still boggles my mind that such an abject sleaze as McAuliffe got elected. I remember almost laughing when I first heard he was running, thinking now way on earth he could win.
Just more proof to me that America has really sunk to once-unimaginable depths of degeneracy.

I’m still bummed out by this election. I still wonder if Ken would have won if he’d brought Sarah and Ted in instead of Ron Paul.

Isn't the House of Delegates firmly in Republican hands? Yes, by over 2/3 margin if I'm not mistaken (67-33). So if any gun control bill is proposed by the governor gets used for anything more than toilet paper on day one, the Republicans will have a LOT of explaining to do.

From the breitbart summary, it looks like everything he is proposing to regulate
is already against the law. All we need are more laws saying "this thing that's already illegal--you really can't do it, and I really mean it this time!"
Is he proposing restrictions that are greater than those already imposed by the current legislation?

Isn't that what we all thought about Obama.

I suppose they’ll “redouble” their efforts to make things really really really really illegal now.

So just HOW much of the state revenue is from hunting licenses, retail of hunting paraphernalia or money from people who travel to VA TO hunt...etc?

Isn't the House of Delegates firmly in Republican hands? Yes it is... almost 2-1 GOP majority... and most of these are conservatives too. This is nothing more than political grandstanding by the dems. New gun control laws aren't going to happen.

This is precisely why I'm not sweating McAuliffe. He can posit all he wants, but he's going to be little more than a paperweight.

The U.S. House of Representatives is “firmly in Republican hands”.
How’s that working out?

very and if we win 1 of the 2 special elections, we take over the State Senate. Currently 20/20. One of the elections is already going to recount, only 10 votes separated the two and of course the DEM is winning as of right now.
