SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Reuters) - A Texas woman arrested on suspicion of killing her newborn son and dumping him in the trash told detectives she "strangled the baby and watched him die," according to an arrest affidavit released by San Antonio police on Wednesday.
The body of the infant, likely less than a week old, was found stuffed in a duffel bag on the intake conveyor belt of a Waste Management recycling center in San Antonio two days before Christmas.

There are so many childless couples waiting out there with open arms. What this woman did was hideous.
Psychiatrists are human beings, and generally flawed.
She killed them after her latest birth. She just flipped. Her husband was no help in any case. He was told not to get her pregnant again.
It was premeditated murder. She committed the murders, not her husband.
Maybe yes maybe no. But they’re used in the court of law for either the defense side or prosecution side. Who says they’re generally flawed? What study?
I know that. But her husband was warned not to get her pregnant. That put her over the edge. I never said or inferred that the husband killed the children.
Oh please that is not true women do not kill their children due to Postpartum Depression. She was/is a demonic mental case way before she was given the gift of children from god.
Anyone can find any excuse for murder.
Killing a child deliberately HAS no defense. PERIOD!
Watch her get off with “it was a late term abortion” or “I was depressed” defense. Tragic!
If I had quoted a study, I would have referenced the source. Some of us believe in individual responsibility, and in right and wrong. For some of us, morality is not a murky concept.

And even in Texas she is not likely to be executed because she is female. (Notice I wrote “female” and not “a woman”. Too many people do not realize there is a difference and most juries in capital cases have a least one person who does not see the difference.)

Agreed. Depression doesn't have to cause women to murder their children. Most people can control their actions.
When some (few) become depressed, they kill themselves. When others become depressed they kill others. When someone murders with a plan it is premeditation. That is criminal.
