She will be ok, until she is no longer ok, and we will deal with that, as we have in the past. We will mourn her, but will thank God for having had her and we will enjoy every minute with her that we have.

You’re just looking to argue. So, I’ll let it go. You’re right.

Not like I don’t drive past there often enough to know.

And..cop on the street? They drove down a freeway littered with cameras

The boss is the father..I had posited, along with the wife given the age, and nature of the crime, that there may have been a secondary unsavory element.

You jack a car for two reasons. A joy ride, pr a chop shop.

They were in Newark, NJ. Yeah they couldn’t make the last 4 blocks.

Thats the route I travel to my fave lunch destination.

As many cops as Newark has... That was not their problem.

That is cool, to be connected to a notable personage-and write reviews. I assume you have long ago ferreted out what verga refers to in Texmex slang?

I know. You’ve had it before. That does not prevent me from being sad, for both of you....

Just saying...I wish you didn’t have to be sad. Thats all. :-(

I know how it will feel when Max gets there.

it’s apparently a trad catholic thing— josephite marriage [think mary and joseph]. i have never heard of it until he mentioned it and i googled. it’s fine if that’s what they think is meant for them, but he’s literally referring to anyone who wants to have sex past that age as having sex crazed addictions. ok.

I’ll cross my fingers that the meds work-I know how hard that choice is-our Chow developed congestive heart failure, late in life, and we were asked if we wanted a referral to the doggie cardiologist, we declined, and instead concentrated on feeding him right, giving him some moderate priced pills, and making his life as happy as it had ever been-we didn’t want to do something that would not only be bank-busting, but might compromise the quality of his life.

He collapsed and died at the age of 17-a long and happy life-he was one of the best guard dogs I’ve ever had, but very gentle with kids and cats-and I still miss him.

I saw the seniors and sex thread-and there are some very nasty, snarky comments there-some people apparently believe the striped jammies/goodnight kiss/twin bed world of late 50’s/early 60’s sitcoms was a representation of the real world-huh!

I was tempted to say I just wish I had a man-one my own age, of course but I was afraid of being hanged drawn and quartered by the angry mob...

I’ve never heard of a josephite marriage either, but I have heard of/known people who practice celibacy in their marriage, when they reach 55 or so. I’ve heard it from both men and women, but mostly the women, who say they’ve lost the desire for sex with menopause-which sounds weird to me. Some of them look the other way if their man has an affair, and really don’t seem to care as long as he doesn’t “bother” them any more.

However, a few years ago one of those women apparently believed that her husband should be celibate, too, and found out he had a mistress. An electrician, he had a job down in Del Rio, and arranged to stash his amante at the hotel where he was staying. By the time he got home, since he’d carelessly left a trail of breadcrumbs, his wife was loaded for bear.

She started a fire in the back of the property, throwing on everything of his she could reach-including his wallet with a check for the job, fire got loose and the FD came, the couple got into a knock down-drag out, the sheriff came and it was a hell of a scandal, right on the front page of the local paper.

They actually made up, though-she lives one road over from me now, and if I see her at the general store or gas station it is all I can do to smile and say hi without asking of she’s started any fires lately...

Hah-thanks, but not likely-I’m not most guys’ type-and I’m reminded of an off color Spanish joke, the punch line of which is uno momento-voy a poner mis botas...

I’m safe here, LOL...

How sad. I hope she is more comfortable now. Buffy stopped eating for a few days and I have been in a panic, but she is eating better now. If it hadn’t been the weekend, I would have taken her in.

There may be a way to find cheaper meds for her. At least you are keeping her comfortable. Those vets charge way too much up there but everything is inflated, from salaries to property values so I guess they can get away with it. It is sad news though.
Here is something to cheer you up. It almost makes me want to root for Seattle.
