I noted that, too. Makes me wonder who put this film together and to what purpose. There is far more to this tale than this 7 minute film cares to share.
Yeah, the bias is apparent.
What is the first thing the narrator says? That the vets would be paid "sometime in the future." Suggesting the bonus was based on a very iffy, uncertain sort of deal; that the vets were being played. In fact, the redemption was to be on a date certain in 1945.
Of course, many vets were flat broke and desperate and assembled in an effort to convince the government to grant relief a man has to do what a man has to do. Undoubtedly, there were agitators with a different agenda. And that may be an important lesson for todays circumstances.
