Then why are we discussing LENR?

Actually, I wasn’t. I was discussing sneering Pooh Bahs who reject new ideas in science. I really don’t know if there is anything to LENR, but I suspect there is. Reputable scientists have indicated that they have found something, including some at Naval Research. The article cites several published articles, just none in Science or Nature.

The author of the article answered the criticism about the danger of no neutron monitoring. Personally, I wouldn’t invest in Rossi’s scheme for the same reasons I wouldn’t buy a pig in a poke. Doesn’t mean I don’t believe in the existence of pigs.

I remember poor old Alfred Wegner being contemptuously sneered at by a professor in an undergraduate geology class in the early 1950s. “He wasn’t even a geologist!”
