Space is very vast, but it is also full of lots of stuff, not only asteroids and comets and meteorites but our own man made space junk. And we are hit by very small, micro-small asteroids and meteorites every day. There is a lot of stuff out there.
Eventually something big will impact the Earth; it has after all happened before. But Im not about to freak out or fret over this very small possibility. Statistically speaking the chances of an extinction level event happing during our life time is quite small.
And if one day should it happen during my lifetime; Im going to get a lawn chair, pour me a good strong drink and sit back and watch the show. If we were to be impacted by an extinction level event, thats about the only thing I could do and Im going to at least enjoy the fireworks and go out with a bang! LOL!

I want to know when we're at risk, and I'm not in a panic mode.
I agree with you on how to meet it, but I believe Revelation 18 and I want to know.
I was in the Science and Space club in high school and space science interest me very much, even in my older years.

I want to know when we're at risk, and I'm not in a panic mode If you are not in a panic mode, then why post all these hysterical apocalyptic and highly unscientific videos from BPEarthwatch? There are many reputable astronomy sites that track near Earth objects without all the drama and hyperbole and totally unnecessary apocalyptic warnings. I think you are more into Disaster Porn; seemingly hoping and wishing for a disaster and the end of all life as we know it because it fits in with your beliefs in Revelations, than you are into the actual science.
I was in the Science and Space club in high school and space science interest me very much, even in my older years.
I too have always been interested in science and particularly in astronomy since I watched all the Gemini and Apollo space missions as a kid, but now at 53 years old, I do try to keep up with current scientific findings. I dont find BPEarthwatch as a source for furthering that knowledge.

"... hysterical apocalyptic and highly unscientific videos from BPEarthwatch"
Hysterical ?
That's not the way I read him.
Highly unscientific ?
His sources and orbital models look valid to me, as most are from JPL and NASA (which after Obama's poisoning of their organization, I take with a grain of salt).
I believe there's something else motivating your dislike of him, but I don't buy the "niburu" stuff.
And I haven't seen any of the "herculobus" (whatever the hell that's suppose to be)and "sixteen foot tall aliens living in a cave" he's been accused of.
And no one's provided a link to those allegations, either.
So as far as I'm concerned, BPEarthWatch is at least watching and trying to warn people and make them aware of what's coming.
But these others that are sniping him, I don't even know if they're atheists or not, so I haven't seen any proof of their so-called credentials.
Everyone else here on Free Republic is too scared to post any kind of information at all about the current meteorite/asteroid threats.

Yes, that's about my attitude as well. If it was confirmed that an extinction-level event was to occur due to asteroid striking the Earth, I would do pretty much as you would do. I'd sit out in my backyard with a bottle of the best scotch I can buy and go out with a little style and dignity.
I won't be one of those hysterical people jamming up the Interstate highway system with an SUV full of blankets and bottled water.

Asteroids have been zooming right past, as well as making impacts on the surfaces of the Earth and Moon, since each body began existence.

100 percent of the Nibiru stuff is nuttery.
> Yeah, you don’t warn anybody about anything, do you?
Since you posted this half a day after the space rock had already MISSED the EARTH, it’s clear that YOU don’t, lose the attitude.

Here's an
update on the direction of incoming fireballs and debris from Ison.
-
We are currently investigating 30 reports about fireballs seen over CA, CO, FL, IN, KS, MN, ND, NY, OR, TX, WA & WI.

Very interesting footage, that's coming from a government satellite.
I'm curious as to what that "see-through" object was or is.
My first thought is ... that it's just a glitch in the camera, or a distortion caused by over radiation from the Sun of the camera on that satellite.
But that's a guess.
What do you think that round object behind Earth is or was?

Notice the orbital paths of all the recorded meteorites on Dec 27, 2013, there was 16 fireballs reported and modeled from
NASA's Meteoroid Environment Office, who's automated computers calculated these orbit models.

I posted that link because it was a copy of something posted by BPEarthwatch, but wasn’t available for deletion by him.

Looking at the orbit plots, I can tell you immediately that none of them are from Ison.

That doesn't answer my question.
What do you think that image is?
That image is from a government camera on a government satellite, and can be downloaded by anyone.
Look at this video from a different source of
ISON (C/2012 S1) Stereo Ahead HI1 2013.11.28. at the 22 second point and stop on the 23 second point.
You'll see that same image, so the image is real, and from the government source.
But
what is it ?
I propose it's a reflection of sorts.
I propose that:
The solar winds caused a slight change of position that allowed a refection of a partial sun to be bounced off of the "glare shield" on the right side of the camera lens
that was light the distorted heat waves you'd see rising off of hot pavement,
for just a moment, and then the satellite settled back into its original attitude.
Anyway, that's what I suggest caused that "ghost" of an image.
So
what do you think ~ caused that image?

I
seriously doubt that you can tell that, from that jumbeled mess.
