The Military Channel will change its name and programming in a couple of months. Start March 3 the Military Channel will be called the American Heroes Channel and no longer focus exclusively on military-themed programming. The announcement was made by Discovery Communications at the Television Critics Association Press Tour:

I watch the Military Channel been doing it since I knew there was one. they do have a limited amount of programming. and they have been showing non military stuff to bolster their schedule. I assume by the new name that they will be showing military stuff and other stuff too.
I will wait to see what happens after they change names...
after all scifi is still scifi after it became syfy
Military Channel should be re-branded the Hitler Channel as I would say a good 25%+ of the content involves Hitler or WW II.
The word “hero” has become so overused today that it has lost all meaning. One is not a “hero” just because he volunteers or shows up or does his job very well; a hero rises head-and-shoulders above all of those good people to lead them against all odds. Over two decades in Marine Corps infantry, I only knew a handful of genuine heroes. I knew many fine and brave men, and the few heroes among them were truly special.
Before it was the Military Channel, it was called Wings.
LOL. I've been saying that very same thing for years. Great minds....
I predict: first american hero: Obama. Second, Oprah.
BINGO! I agree 100%! Being a hero is the new, "Everybody Gets A Trophy" program.
They stole that title from the 1990's History Channel, which use to be the "All Hitler All the Time Channel", but is now the "Alien and Paranormal" History Channel
Schwein
I wonder if they will keep showing Hitler now. I know they use it as filler but at least it keeps people knowledgeable about his horrific crimes.
Bitcoin! er, Bingo! I can see this morphing into everybody is a hero, and heavily loaded to minorities. They’ll begin with a season of bullying “heroes”, etc.
An example sadly not heeded by the majority of America.
Lucky you. Other than sports, the only thing on TV is basically the History Channel (I & II) and Science and Military. If they rename the Military Channel, and continue to highlight heroes, it will be more like the Readers Digest used to be than anything else on TV is.Ill continue to check it out.
