Word For The Day, Wednesday, January 8, 2014-- demimonde
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
All crimes are caught after the fact.
That is a different issue than the government creating crimes, just because.
Well I am not persuaded to the contrary by anything I’ve heard from any of you. It’s not my hot button issue I don’t read the debates bc basically I don’t care about it, it hasn’t affected my life. I am willing to bet that legalization will bring more problems than currently exist.
It is no different than the gun control issue.
Nut commits crime.
Statists run in to grab Freedoms.
I’m reminded of the scene from “It’s Complicated” where Meryl Streep is in Steve Martin’s car on the way to a party, about to show him the joint her ex husband gave her, which she has already taken a couple hits from-she says Can I ask you a personal question? Do you poke smot? The look on his face has me howling every time I see the movie...
Crime, or Health...?
I’ve made up my mind to start on that book this weekend-I’m trying to come up with an opening paragraph that catches the interest and isn’t stale...
You had me at chicken. ;)
Uh oh, don’t get him started on the try it and you’ll get caught commercials.
When I was a teenager we weren’t allowed to drink anywhere. So we’d drive around out in the boonies while drinking.
Legalization will reduce the need for people to hide.
Well, that is what they remind me of, bok, bok, bok...
Thanks for catching that, I’m feeling worse as the day wears on. Trying to cook stuff for xsboy to take back on Friday.
I think that’s a fantastic idea. Once you get going I bet it makes life much more enjoyable.
Most Democrats didn’t favor legalization Civil Rights...was that position right as well?
Or was Liberty the correct position?
P.S.just from a scholastic point.
Law and Order Republicans, are not the same as Conservatives.
Scalia is the former, Thomas the latter.
Statism lives in both parties.
“drive around out in the boonies”
Unsafe-we were fortunate enough to have pastures to go to-one of the guys would go to an ice house that didn’t card, get the beer, we’d meet in the front of somebody’s property-quietly so as not to wake their parents and sneak into a pasture, woods or down to the river. You had to stay sober enough to get back without waking anyone or tripping and drowning in the river, too...
Survey says conservative republicans. Their term, not mine.
It was a Dark and Stormy night....
Thats what Snoopy uses ;-)
I don’t know about that, but I’ve got the right setting to write, and the motivation of bringing in a much needed few extra bucks...
