Considering the number of innocents gunned down by Dallas police recently who then lied about the incidents but were caught on video . . . .

Sounds like this ‘civil lawyer’ was none too civil on this occasion.

So he had a break in, but then shot at the police?

Apartment owner reports break in and cops then shoot apartment owner.

I wonder what the 11 year old daughter has to say about it (she was there).

They were “forced” to shoot him. Why can’t they back the hell off and get more information/wait it out before they go in guns blazing?

Suicide by cop? Although it sounds like he wanted to take a few of them with him.

Police were called to the Glass House by Windsor building after Schmidt told an employee there that he had a break-in. The two then hid in the apartment office, according to dispatch recordings.

When officers arrived, Schmidt barricaded himself in a hallway near the high-rise’s lobby and fired several shots at them, authorities said. The officers took cover.

Police said officers tried to negotiate with Schmidt, but he continued shooting and they were forced to return fire, killing him
So let me try and understand this, because this wording in the story does not make sense.

So Schmidt told an employee that he had a break-in.

...Was it Schmidt's employee, or an employee of the Aprtment complex?

...and did Schmidt have a break-in or the apartment complex had a break in?

Who called the Police? Schmidt? The Apartment employee?

After the police were called, apparently Schmidt and the employee hid in an office.

Then the Police arrived and Schmidt started shooting at the police?

What?

Then the police tried to negotiate with Schmidt but he kept shooting at them and the police were forced to kill him?

Like I say, this story, as written does not make sense.
