New moon occurred at 5:14 a.m. (CST) today. For the U.S. Midwest that makes the moon approximately 12 hours old at sunset this evening. Since the moon moves to the east or away from the sun at the rate of one moon-diameter per hour, skywatchers in the western U.S. will have it somewhat easier shot at seeing it. In Denver, the moon will be 13 hours old, while in San Francisco it will have aged to 14 hours. Hawaii residents will have their shot at a 16-hour-old moon, still very young but farther yet from the sun and easier to see. To know exactly when the sun and moon set for your city, click HERE.
Luckily youll have more than just the sunset point to help know in which direction to look; Venus, itself a very thin crescent moon at the moment, hovers 7-8 degrees to the upper left of the moon. You should have no problem seeing a crescent Venus in binoculars.

Good info, thanks. But you'll have to post a picture for me; inversion layer here means sky is invisible. I just went out to check.
Meanwhile, somewhere it looks like this?
Happy New Year

She does look a lot younger than she is. I noticed that a long time ago.
I got her name wrong. It’s Moon Geun-young not Moon Young-geun.
She is 26 now. She could still play a high school kid, maybe middle school kid convincingly.
“The nations’ little sister” was her nickname apparently.

The nations little sister was her nickname apparently. How sweet.
Too bad we won't be around to see "little sister" when she's not so cute, at, say 40. Oh well. THEN she will be replaced by yet ANOTHER cute, sweet looker who will use her looks unrepentantly to get what she wants.
Most of the young on-air female lookers do the same thing all over the planet.
It sure sets them up to fail as older women. Eventually they will be as bitter and sour as they were once SWEET looking.
Hah, she was undoubtedly taught all that by her female relatives! So men can't be blamed. Now there's a switch!
