not if what she claims is false…. you are so darned quick to blame the police. this is the classic version of the slip and fall case…. this woman’s amputation was not due to being hand cuffed.
In some cases the initial amount of the suit is really a placeholder. They have to file to get it in the system and then they’ll work on the amount later. Thats the only thing that makes sense here.
Because it doesn’t matter why she was arrested or how many times she requested a doctor. All that matters is whether she lost her arm due to cause stated.

A million, maybe, but not millions! We need to rein in these ludicrous lawsuits, most of which are paid by you and me. We only know one side of the story here, and even though it sounds like she has been mistreated, we should NOT be advocates of such huge payouts. Common sense payments. She should be recompensed for the surgery and somewhat for the loss of limb. These days, the loss of limb is not a total loss of ever being able to create revenue for oneself.
How many people have been the subject of arms bars, wrist locks, tight handcuffs, and had to have their arm amputated ?
