I know it's late but we just heard we will have this guest and any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks And Merry Christmas.
a cuddly blanket to watch tv under?
Male or female?
Audio book? Kindle?
I’ve become interested in bird feeders . Maybe responsibility of a bird feeder and the joy of bird watching would be of interest.
Female 32 years old.
She lives in a home weekdays and spends weekends with her father my MIL new boyfriend.
Severely afflicted.
be very careful and considerate of this person, find out his/her level of competence and act accordingly, you don’t want to give a 7 year old’s gift. Clothing, is always appropriate and if you KNOW their intellectual level, games, puzzles, etc. are always welcome....a gift card so he/she can take their familly out to a restaurant is cool too.
If she is severely afflicted, I would lean toward something wonderfully tactile...such as a super soft throw, and pillow (which she can hold close....) THAT, and something to do with music...perhaps a lovely relaxing CD (AND CANDY!! :-)
Tough to say without knowing her but my niece who has DS likes music.
my friends son often has difficulty keeping track of belongings when he visits or goes to appointments. someone gave him a sports bag and he uses it for shoes, his basketball (he is ALWAYS prepared to play) and any other items he wants to keep him
Don't over think it....
I’ve read blankets/throws are popular with DS patients.
Wendy’s Gift certificates. Everyone loves going out to lunch!
How about one of those blankets with sleeves? They come in all colors and are warm and comfy.
How about a pre-paid Visa? I guess my point is that you aren’t sure what she needs/wants/likes so she can pick something out for herself. I am hoping that a family member will take her to a mall or help her purchase something online?
Gift card to a local restaurant. Large enough to cover recipients dinner and a guest
The gift does not matter. Given with genuine affection, nearly anything will win her heart.
Several of you have suggested a gift certificate. Unfortunately she hasn’t the capacity to use one.
i think a blanket is going to be our last minute shopping for tomorrow.
Thanks tho!

I purchased two for my girls this year. Both wanted something “really soft and fuzzy” so they could curl up in it and watch tv. Excellent idea, Clint! The stores also have fuzzy/soft socks as well. Good luck!
