We have several crocs living in the North Lake area of Hollywood FL. There is signage warning us not to “harass” them. When I see people walking with children and dogs right up next to the waters edge by the intercoastal water areas it gives me the willies.

Actually they are drones spying on the rich and famous. Just have your pool guy remove the batteries.

American Crocodiles are native to the southernmost part of Florida, no matter what our elementary school teachers taught us.

I didn't know they existed until the first time I visited the Keys.

The American Crocodiles that live in Florida are not aggressive. However, the American Crocodiles that live in Cuba are very aggressive.

One concern is that the Cuban American Crocodile appears to be increasing its habitat. It has recently been found in the Cayman Islands and in Mexico.

I was wrong. The Cuban Crocodile is a different species, but it’s been breeding with the American Crocodile and the hybrids are what has colonized the Grand Caymans, Mexico, and other Caribbean islands.
