Martin was bantering with Twitter followers and turning their grammar questions into jokes when he was asked is this how you spell lasonia?
His response: It depends. Are you in an African-American restaurant or at an Italian restaurant.

Watched a movie with my son on Netflicks last night. Boondock Saints with the actor that plays “Daryl” on The Walking Dead. (10 year old movie??) Anyway, a character tells a joke:
A white guy, black and Hispanic guy walking along a beach and find a magic bottle with a Genie in it.
They rub it and they decide they’ll each get a wish. The Hispanic says “I wish me and all my Hispanics could go back south and live and be happy.” POOF! His wish is granted.
The black guy says “I wish me and all my black brothers and sisters could go live in Africa and live and be happy.” POOF! His wish is granted.
So the white guy looks at the Genie and says “So all the Hispanics are gone to their homeland? And all the blacks are gone to their homeland?”

“I’ll have a Coke.”

(Not sure if it is all that funny, but it IS racist!”
I once asked a new temp “Is that pronounced Darrel or Day-relle”?
The Nazification of our country by the left. Once bullies get the idea that they can push people around, they keep going until the other side gives them one or two very unpleasant experiences and/or simply turns the crowd against them.
Just to be rude?
No, just being a smart ass.
Someone can apologize for pointing out what those using the exit for an entrance already presumably know, Someone else can apologize for trying to make people laugh who hold millennia old traditional beliefs who disagree with other people who have traditionally been viewed with social scorn.
Maybe there could be a guest spot for that person who said something, anything which taken out of context made them the target of the professionally offended who seek to have the rest of us as starry-eyed and gaga over their particular issue or behaviour as they think we should be, even as we vomit.
(Maybe they secretly get off on that, not that there is anything wrong with that...)
Or....
How about people just get off everyone else's butt (figuratively speaking) and mind their own d@mned business.
And If they really don't want to hear what people think, don't ask.
You know damned well some mother of the untouchable race named her kid “LaTrine” or “LaTreen” or some variant, and hasn’t a clue that he/she will pay for that in years to come.
No joking allowed if anybody even might be offended!
He gets a pass on this. After all, he was born a poor black child.
But since Mr. Martin is such an elitist rude liberal in real life, I hope he has to crawl on his knees.
Make him kiss the feet of fellow liberals who are higher on the food chain than white formerly funny comedians.
(Forgive the anger, it's personal with Steve Martin).
“Ill have a Coke.

He could have told the genie...”you’ve already granted my wish without performing any magic...my tax burden has now been lifted!
That’s what I was thinking.
Damned straight it was offensive. But I don’t understand the ‘racial’ component: I’m Italian. </sarc>
;-)
“...he is a comedian ...”
Bill Maher is a comedian? Coulda fooled me; I’ve never heard him say anything funny, sort of like the new “Saturday Night Live.”
