I don’t mind cold so much, but the short days during winter drive me crazy.

Summer and spring, I can take a short nap in the afternoon, get up and still have four or five hours outside to do stuff.

But when the sun goes down at 4:30, and it’s pitch black by 5, that don’t work!

I’ve always been the opposite. I love yard work, but evening is the time to sit in the yard with some booze, and watch the moon and the stars, and listen to the wind in the huge willow. Evening is heaven, and if kills me to wait until 8 or 9pm to begin the festivities. And if you don’t start boozing until 9pm, it’s tough to get up for work the next day!

I used to work at Prudhoe Bay which is 70* N. latitude.

The Sun set around Thanksgiving and did not clear the horizon again until around Jan 25th.

The Full Moons of December and January circled in the sky without setting. Now THAT was weird!
