Also found these other two sites which seem to confirm it's really free:
Grab Adobe PS CS2 Free
Adobe's giving us all a late Christmas present. You can grab yourself a free, legitimate copy of Photoshop and the rest of the Creative Suite 2, right now, direct from Adobe. No catch.
Well, unless you think having an Adobe account is a catch. Anyway, apparently Adobe's tired of keeping the activation servers running to support legitimate installs of the 10-year-old CS2, so it's decided to just give it away. Sounds great to me.
Handy if all you need is a quick image editor, Photoshop CS2 will still do all the basic things, just not the new fancy smart content aware stuff. Free's free, so get over to Adobe.com and get downloading.
Free Adobe CS2... After our trial and test, the software is proved to be official, secure and free..

The mac version only works with PowerPC, not Intel. Bummer.I just noticed that. My other computer is an old Mac G4. I'll have to download the Mac version as well and see if it will run on that box.

I recommend Scott Kelbys book on CS2 to learn how to navigate the user interface. It is much quicker than trial and error. Thanks for the tip.
Have had CS2 inheritied from a defunct company for years but never really did anything with it due to the learning curve. This book may help get the thumb out.

I own a fully legal, fully paid for copy of CS2. I have not been able to load it because 2 or more instances are still recorded for MAC addresses of long dead laptops. I have never been able to resolve this with a real live person who was empowered to act on my problem. I gave up. I’ll give this a try and see how it works.

I had PS v3.05 on 32 3½" discs, back in the mid/late 90s. Same with Illustrator. I took a $1,500 night course at a graphics academy to learn them, and it was a "Mac Lab". I had Win-95, just "upgraded" from Win-3.1, and it crashed everytime I tried to use it. Gave-up without getting much use from PS or Ill.
