Silly people - the only public smoking allowed in New York is marijuana.

And only for non-Whites.

City council spokeswoman says that the ban will make it EASIER to ENFORCE the city’s (current)smoke-free air act..

Laws,
To make it,
Easier,
To enforce,
More laws.

well..as long as it makes it easy..

Don't worry about an Earthquake fault.

With DeLoser in charge, the city will return to it's sleazy porn, violent crime heydays of the 1970s.

So e-cig users should say they are smoking pot.

I'm sorry, NYC, but to ban something, you have to have a reason. ‘It looks like smoking.’ Well, gosh, best ban breathing on 65 days a year when the air is so cold that everyone’s breath steams. ‘It is a health risk.’ Not even the singular crackpot survey of really bad Chinese imported e-cigarettes makes that claim, there the risk is only attributed to the user and goes out of it's way to explicitly state that there is no risk to others.

The entire foundation of indoor smoking bans was that it presented an unacceptable hazard to those who were forced to work in such an environment. It was a workplace safety issue, for which vaping has zero associated risks involved for others, and for the user, risks are limit by avoiding really bad junk that comes from China.

So their reach here is that it is harder to ban indoor smoking because vaping looks so much like smoking. Sounds like the only thing they could actually enforce the ban against would be devices that look and act like cigarettes (batteries that look like cigarettes with red tips.)

Anything else is pretty much easily identified as being a non-cigarette.

"the e-cigarettes are designed to look like cigarettes and be used just like them, they can lead to confusion or confrontation"

Yes, so BAN them, because they LOOK like cigarettes.

Second hand smoke?

No sir, these LOOK scary, so BAN them!

Any known danger from water vapor?

Um, no, but that's not the problem.

The government has "deemed" them scary, so they MUST be banned!

What about the 18 year old who never held anything heavier than a pencil with "intractable back pain" who NEEDS marijuana?

Uh, we're not MONSTERS here, the fellow residents must learn to adapt.

What if the teen needs "medical tobacco"?

Oh, what a ridiculous notion!

The ONLY smoke that is magical is marijuana smoke.
