Right. As soon as the gear touches the water the plane digs in and flips. Best way to do it if you have to is nose high, let the tail drag first slowing the plane then stall into the water at a slower speed. The plane will still flip but not as violently.

Yeah, we had a “crazy” swede as an instructor, and he loved to grind the rear tie-down off. lol
