"The hallmark of a great villian is not to enjoy evil - to act insane or to stir up trouble - but to actually outsmart the leading man........(may contain spoilers)...The biggest fear in a zombie apocalypse is that, the very things you do to survive, are the things that detach you from the rest of mankind...

So, which are your top 5 reasons why The Governor is scarier than zombies?

Zombies only CAN act on the instinct of Zombies. They don't think, reason, feel anger, remorse or guilt (unless it's a Warm Bodies kind of zombie, that is, but that's a different movie).

The Gov is capable of ALL of the above so he is a lethal threat to zombies as well as humans - those that don't kneel before him.

Are you okay with the way he was defeated? Was it a fluke? Should he have survived last season?

I'm glad Michonne was the one to do him in initially - as she repeatedly promised she would - and that Lily gave him the coup de grâce because I imagine he would have been one terrible zombie to deal with. In the end he did NOT protect Mehan any better than he did his own daughter. It was because of his own delusions of grandeur, his insistence on his way or the highway, his brutal plans to murder everyone in the prison - kids included - so that he could take over what he saw as an impenetrable home but which would prove to be just as vulnerable as Woodberry was.

I am glad that he didn't survive and that Rick and the group will be fighting new odds to survive.

Does he really deserve to be the Best Villain 2013?.......

He sure gets my vote!

Somebody help me here. What the hell are these zombies surviving on? Do they have zombie 7-11s?

I'll give the writers a poetic license to pass on that, but what about the tank indiscriminately demolishing what was to be the invaders' new home and refuge? Seems like they could have come up with some clever and plausible cover for that.

I remember someone - can’t remember who exactly - said in the show that they STILL eventually die just that it takes them longer. If, as the theme suggests, this is a WORLDWIDE pandemic, then there are BILLIONS of zombies and potential zombies. Every time a person dies, even of natural causes, they will reanimate as one and then they go on to eat and kill and their victims do and so on. That explains why two years later the group is having to continually fight them. They will only exponentially get worse. Doesn’t look good to me. They will eat EVERY LIVING CREATURE that they can - and it doesn’t have to be human. So even the humans who survive will have to become vegans!

I agree. Baby Judith would NOT have been left. One of the girls carrying her out to the bus made sure she got on it.

I cannot wait until Rick gets offed. I am so tired of his indecision.

The fact that many of the characters are not consistent is one of things that appeals to me in this show. I think they all must be a little crazy given what they've done, had done to them, and with no end to it in sight.

Rick didn't start off inconsistent, but (as I see it) is burned out by the responsiblity and the, well, horror, that seems to accompany every possible alternative to every crisis.

“In 28 Days later they were like zombies but they did eventually die.”

Not only that you missed the most important part: the zombie plague started from a bunch of moronic PETA liberals who unleashed the virus strain by freeing a diseased monkey. Usually it’s the US gubmint’s fault in movies..

Baby Judith’s safety has concerned me (and everyone else) since she was born.

Poor Herschel.

Yeah, I was sad to see Herschel go and wonder who is the next one to be the "conscience" of the group that keeps the humanity part of each one alive and still holds onto faith.

As far as the baby, I think it is strange that NO other babies have shown up yet - not on the road, not in the towns, not in the various camp sites. A few we are left to surmise got devoured by the zombies (like the gory car seat found in an abandoned car). Even Lori was devastated to find out she was pregnant - not only because she was fooling around with Shane but because she didn't really know if it was Shane's or Rick's, once he found them and they reunited. She got Glenn to find her a Plan B package from a pharmacy run as she contemplated the sanity of bringing a baby into such a messed up world. Even Glenn and Maggie used condoms to try to prevent that from happening.

What I DO see in having Judith in the program is that she represents hope - hope that life can STILL happen, that a new generation is coming that will ONLY know this kind of life and, maybe, JUST maybe, she will be a key to some kind of immunization or cure. At least that's my hope. I don't see the logic of having her be dead just when Carl and Rick have lost practicially everything else. I would hope that the writers aren't THAT cruel to us. But, it IS only a TV show after all.

Good points about the babies. I agree that baby Judith represents hope. No, the writers wouldn’t have anything bad happen to her....lets hope.

I think Glen will replace Herschel as the “conscience” of the group.

Carl will end up mentoring to and straightening out Lizzie. In 7 years or so they’d get married. LOL

The Rick in the comic is better....
I wish they would bring Shane back...pretend that his death was dream sequence sort of like they always did in “Lost”.

I think the show will still be on TV then. Lots of storyline left on that one.

Yes, but Phillip has 2 “i’s” and Brian has one, so the name change was necessary.

That's the beauty of the zombie genre. There are so many things about them that don't make any sense, but there's no one who's survived the initial event that's in a position to offer any reasonable explanations.

What do they survive on? They eat the living. Well, there's fewer and fewer of them around. So can a zombie starve? They are also in various stages of decay. You would think that at some point the musculature that enables mobility would deteriorate and reduce them to a simple pile of snarling goo.

Like I said, that's the beauty of the genre. It's like a bad dream where nothing makes any sense. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
