OK, I wasn’t going to mention this but my husband once spent an evening in O’Toole’s company. This was around 2001 or 2002. They went to a restaurant that was closing but they opened the bar for O’Toole. When he asked for something to eat, he was told the kitchen was closed. Mr. O’Toole politely asked if someone would send out for a Big Whopper? The waiters ran to the nearby Mickey D’s and brought back hamburgers and fries for both my husband and O’Toole. O’Toole was incredibly appreciative! According to my husband, he was an utter delight. Kind - and like all British actors - a wonderful storyteller.
RIP, Peter! You are sorely missed.
What a wonderful story. Thanks for sharing it.
He wrote an autobiography, I remember, which was well received. No ghost writers. (Two volumes?)
Great Story!
You and I should “go on the road’ with our stories! LOL!
More, please!
That is nice, thanks for sharing. For those of us out here who have never had and never will have any personal experiences with celebrities, it is good to hear that some of them are nice people. RIP Mr. O’Toole.
