I’m thinking this reporter is much smarter than the anchor, but the anchor is considered more telegenic and therefore gets the anchor chair……

The “anchorman” was really rude. Clearly he was just there to make the reporters life difficult.
Not even close. Andy Provenzano “guaranteeing” the female anchor on WILX that she will “get, at least, six inches tonight”.
The money quote, “ I guarantee you that you will get, at least, six inches tonight.” Cut to commercial.
(Crip, help me out on that blonde’s name; “Sandy”, maybe?). She was kinda hawt until she chased after some “selective surgery”...she’s about our age, maybe a few years older)
“I’m Ron Burgundy - GFY San Diego!”
That gal’s grievance was the most newsworthy item their station could could find to air?! Just damn! Had she promised someone a wardrobe malfunction or what?

This one has been around for a while, I’ve seen it on TV a few times. Senior Ron Burgundy sniping at his man on the street.
Another teleprompter Ted Baxter, trying to act smarter than the folks who actually gather the news…..
What an egotistical jerk anchor.
If he had stopped at his initial disappointment phase, because of the woman’s premature departure, he would have looked better by miles, but seemed thrown when the reporter invited him to ask a question himself.
Heck, maybe the reporter baited him, but anchor-man fell right in. Ungracious and petty was soon to follow.
I can’t remember her name but I do remember Andy “The weather pro”. Back in the days of Cathy Schmaltz.
I agree…I think there’s bad blood between the two, the way there was between Ted Baxter and Murray on the old MTM TV Show. Murray was smarter, but Ted had that “dumb anchorman” look the suits wanted…..
I sensed that here, and def think the anchor looks worse.
The reporter should have handed the girl the earpeice and mic. Said, “Here our anchor has some questions for you.”
