To the families of the victims, Ethan Couch was a killer on the road, a drunken teenage driver who caused a crash that left four people dead.
To the defense, the youth is himself a victim -- of "affluenza," according to one psychologist -- the product of wealthy, privileged parents who never set limits for the boy.

Wait till Rush hears about this. He coined the term.
The psychobabble used in this case is very worrying, but the light sentence isn’t all that unusual ..... for an NFL player. CNN (and its readers/viewers) wants this kid drawn and quartered, but doesn’t have much to say about wealth and privilege when a 30 year old man who happens to make millions playing pro ball does the same thing and gets little to no prison time.
What a horrific precedent. ‘Affluneza’? The kid’s never been held accountable so the brilliant judges solution is to continue more of the same. Paging Charles Bronson.
Put the parents in jail then or better yet parents and the kid.
Or let the parents decide. 10 years for either them of the kid.
OK, 10 years probation for stealing the beer, fine. But keep Couch locked up until the 4 people he killed recover from their deaths and sign the paperwork to drop the charges (if they unanimously decide to).
The judge is screwed, probably be disbarred. Say good bye to that cushy job, liberal whacko judge.
Well, hey, since his parents never set limits, why start now?
The judge is screwed, probably be disbarred.

She is leaving the bench when her term ends in Dec. 2014.
She did not file for the GOP Primary in Mar.
A Leftist judge disbarred?
What color is the sky on your planet?
The judge is a woman?
The ruling makes sense now...
Death penalty. Need some one to throw the switch? Available. Work cheap.
The judge is conveniently retiring.
I suspect she’s going to have a real nice vacation with that cash windfall she just got from the boy’s parents.
I’d wait five years and find an opportunity to put him out of my misery.
If I hadn’t died by then I’d be close enough.
If you are going to kill someone, do it with a car. Courts are always more lenient with car than with guns.
It’s Texas, FRiend.
