Mack Brown, who led the Longhorns to a national championship in 2005, will step down as Texas head coach after 16 seasons. The University would not confirm the news and denied that Brown would step down.
Espn broke the story that he would resign. If they are wrong—this would be the umpteenth time the network has swung and missed. It’s not a sports news network. It’s a sports drama network.

A LIBERAL sports drama network.
They don’t care much for Texas, either. Oh well, the feeling’s mutual.
“who led the Longhorns to a national championship in 2005”
Anyone who watched that game knows that Vince Young won that game all by himself. He didn’t need a coach or teammates.
I agree... Texass sucks!! and I love watching them suffer!!
Y'all have a good day.
Y'all have a good day.
You too. Hook ‘em!
Forcing Mac out is crazy. They could go from 10 and 2 to 3 and 9. But I’d be okay with that... :)
Ask Tennessee what happens when you force a successful coach out.............................
Yep... OU forced Switzer out because he went 8 and 4. Took about 15 years and 3 coaches go get “back”. OU had some other issues when they forced Switzer out... but be certain.. it was 8 and 4 that got him run off.
After the OU / OSU game this past weekend... half the OSU homers in this state are wanting to run Gundy off. They’re crying that Stoops owns him and all that. How bad he got out coached etc. They’re crazy. They’ve only won against OU 9 times in the past 55 years. Ought to get used to it by now... :)
Sounds more like OU “owns” OSU...*LOL*
They are the head of the pus pocket that is Austin TX.
Mack rebuilt Texas football and I support him.
Hook em.
Don’t confuse “Austin” with the liberal cancer that is here. UT is an incredible school with great people. The city is beautiful. Sadly, liberalism has been in control of the city since the 60’s.
One of the names being bandied about to replace him is Mike Tomlin.
We here in Pittsburgh could never actually get that lucky, could we?
Great. Now Will Muschamp can finally take over at Texas.
Here in Oklahoma we were hearing Saban might be his replacement. Hmmm... I’ll let you know after the Sugar Bowl if I like that idea or not... (I’m betting not)
A few weeks ago, I would have thought no way Saban would leave Bama.
But he was clearly upset at Bama players getting death threats after the Auburn game, and maybe he figures that it just isn’t worth it anymore if not winning an NC at Bama is considered failure.
