The Boer and his gun

Anton Myburgh

Translation by Piet Smith (YouTube).

Put your hand on the plough
In the sun you will sweat
Because the Boer and his gun never grow tired.

Because the Boer and his gun never get tired to plough
When he stands, he stands firm as a rock
If you put chains around his language
The devil will get you
Leave his land, you are playing with a bomb's fuse.

Carry on farming, Boer son
No one will take your land away
Because the Boer and his gun never grow tired.

Because the Boer and his gun never gets too tired to plough
When he stands, he stands firm as a rock
If you put chains on his language
The devil will get you
Leave his land, you are playing with a bomb's fuse.

Plant your maize, raise your cattle
You never have to be afraid
Because the Boer and his gun never get tired.

Because the Boer and his gun never get too tired to plough
When he stands, he stands firm as a rock
If you put chains around his language
The devil will get you
Leave his land, you are playing with a bomb's fuse.

With his one eye on the weather
and his hand on his gun
The Boer and his gun never get tired.

Because the Boer and his gun never get too tired to plough
When he stands, he stands firm as a rock
If you put chains around his language
The devil will get you
Leave his land. you are playing with a bomb's fuse.

Original

Boer en sy roer.

Anton Myburgh

as hy staan, staan hy sterker as 'n rots

niemand sal jou grond kom neem

as hy staan, staan hy sterker as 'n rots

Plant jou mielies, teel jou bees

as hy staan, staan hy sterker as 'n rots

as hy staan, staan hy sterker as 'n rots

If you like I will sentsend you the link for the video.

Guess I am tired, even my responses have typo's. Or it may be that I try to respond too fast without enough proofing. An admitted fault.

Those who truly understanded it her.

That one sounds awkward and not as per Heston, but that is as close as I can come from the audio

Perhaps a suitable campfire song for the next gathering on the ridge, eh?

The Afrikaners will soon be wiped out in South Africa.

What the English Square couldn’t do, Karl Marx pretty much did. It is a tragedy.

the freeloaders got envious and want to take it all away.

It would be one thing if they took and used. But that is not what usually happens, instead a general breakdown happens, and then maybe another set of rednecks comes to the rescue.

Here it is. It says "informed". However, it is possible that Diderot spoke not of formal education but of moral formation.

May they defer (at least for several centuries), the judgment pronounced against all the things of this world, the judgment which condemned them to have their birth, their period of strength, their decrepitude, and their end.

...always smelled first by the farmers. Who come from their simple homes to find the fire and fight, because they know that sacred stuff resides in that wooden stock and blued steel.

Very good. Indeed it is the farming class that is the cornerstone of freedom: not the hired hands, not the sophisticates with degrees but a farmer who is a complete microcosm of human race and has the mentality of the human race crystallized in him, in entirety.

Thank you. It looks like he both meted "crucifixions" and in the end received one.

These?

Boer Commandos, c. 1900. Loadout included trousers, shirt, jacket, hat and boots, ammo bandoliers, beard, and Lee Metford or Mauser rifle. Boers were frequently mounted as well. (Source)

Colonization of Africa is an historical inevitability. While we mourn the failures of the first colonists, new waves will come, and will be greeted with flowers. Or leopard skins, — whatever the local equivalent of a flower is. It may not be in our lost generation, but it will happen.

The farmer is an independent man of many parts; he is living proof of the competence of humans to command their own lives.

As such, he is the first and principal enemy of the modern grasping State.

The Russian kulaks, the Chinese “landlords”; all died in their tens of millions that the State might flourish. The surviving boers stand alone in South Africa.

There aren’t many farmers left in North America...

But you know, after it all boils over, this is who will survive: a farmer with his rifle.

Remember many of the founders were planters.

Farmers grow things, builders construct things, craftsmen fashion things.

But Socialist create nothing, only destroy.

They Lie, Steal, Subject and ultimately destroy things. Many times the result is mass murder.

Totalitarianism in all it’s forms is EVIL.
