We've got a lot of coyotes around here. Many nights if I walk out the back door I can hear them yipping outside of town.
Ironically, in the context of your post, we're getting an increased number of mountain lion sightings hereabouts. Just had a guy tell me that one of the deer hunters nearby caught one on his trail cam. And quite a few farmers, including my uncle, have reported seeing them all over the place in western Iowa.
As the number of larger predator animals increases, the numbers of their prey declines. This is part of the liberal plan. The purpose is to get rid of firearms. The one argument the liberals really have a hard time with is hunting. If the prey numbers get too high, they suffer starvation and disease. That is ugly and humans don’t like to see animals suffer like that. Hunters, with their firearms, keep the numbers of deer and rabbits an so forth in check. We win that argument. So, they just reintroduced wolves to drive down the prey numbers. I saw a billboard that said that the Elk herd in Northern Yellowstone is down by 80%. The next step will be to put a hold on hunting. Then it’s, “What do you need those rifles for? There aren’t any deer left to shoot.” The Democrat politicians could care less about the animals. See how many of them hunt or even hike. They want those guns gone. It makes it easier to dictate to us that way.
