Well, one of the reviews or comments I saw say they killed “Sound of Music” and that was not a compliment.
I think people should take into account that it was done live though

Unfortunately people are comparing Underwood’s stage performance to the movie rendition of the SOM.......which is unfair.

I heard about that, and there was some confusion among people who didn’t realize that the Carrie Underwood special was not a remake of the movie, but a remake of the original Broadway production on which the movie was based, which was different than the movie.

Yes. I think we should spot them at least 20% for doing it live.

She was signed to a contract at 18 and got her first part in 1941. She was beautiful and really took care of herself.
To: Cyman
I liked the live show. People are so used to slick sets and special effects that a live stage performance is a tough sell on TV.

You’d think the publication could’ve at least gotten her face in the photo announcing her death! Sheesh.

Yes, it
was that bad.
As has been said, the live show was not meant to be a reproduction of the movie. Unfortunately, the movie version has eclipsed any other rendition for most anyone who knows and/or loves the story. Underwood's version was severely handicapped from the get-go.
