I like the fact that when you go into Bottom Dollar, the music they are playing is like your radio dial stuck on 1975.
Before they came to town we had some run-down dirty Foodland stores that were every bit as bad as the meth-addict store an AQ posted above.
Bottom Dollar must have bought up many of the Foodlands because there was a Foodland on the site now occupied by BD in my neighborhood. Foodland was pretty bad. The store was tiny. Built in the 1960s, I think. Not large enough to accommodate all the numerous brands most stores carry today. Skimpy aisles, food piled up anywhere and everywhere because there wasn't enough shelf space. Mercifully, when BD bought the Foodland property, it tore down the old store and built a new, expanded store. Much nicer.
And you don't want to shoplift in this Bottom Dollar store. There is a burly security guard who looks like he could crush you. I watched him tackle a shoplifter once. It wasn't pretty.
