So, the only option left is getting the kids arrested.
That is what we are forking over at least $12,000 per student per year for, plus the kids can't fill out an application if they manage to graduate.
We still have corporal punishment in our schools. We are just a bunch of red neck hicks ya know?
Actually, if these children were handled correctly from day one in Kindergarten, corporal punishment would not be necessary for 99%.
They like attention and praise. If you want to see a behavior repeated, just notice it. Praising the behavior increases the effect.
That’s where most teachers go wrong. They get busy with stuff, and ignore the kids until someone misbehaves, then they get noticed.
The more they are noticed, the more the behavior continues. True, the kids will quit when scolded, but they’ll do it again later.
If a kindergarten kid is talking, just noticing that the person sitting next to him is quiet and acting like a grown up kindergartener is enough to shut his mouth. Once quiet, he gets noticed too, and feels good instead of chastised.
Show me a problem student in Middle School and he was likely noticed for all the wrong reasons during his early school years, until bad behavior became a habit.
Now and again, you do run into a Missouri Mule type - the need the corporal punishment just to get their attention. From then on, it works with them too.LOL
